Scott and Fordham are each charged with two counts of murder.

Shawn and Kevin Vargas were fatally shot in Kevin Vargas’ apartment on Somerset Avenue in Taunton on February 24, 2008. Shawn Vargas’ two sons, ages 4 and 2, were present at the time of the shooting but were not injured.

Shawn Vargas was 21 years old and Kevin Vargas was 23 years old.

Scott and Fordham will be arraigned Friday morning in Fall River Superior Court, Quinn’s office said.

They are not the first two people to face charges in the Vargas killings.

In 2016, two other men were charged in connection with the case.

One of them, Keith Cox of Berkley, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and armed robbery.

The second suspect, Matthew Lander of Swansea, accused of being the driver for the three others involved in the crime, was found not guilty of all charges against him. His lawyer had argued that Lander had no idea a double homicide was going to happen.
