Tractor-trailer catches on fire after crash on I-495 in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) said a tractor trailer was on fire after a crash on Sunday morning.

Crews said that at about 6 a.m., they were dispatched to the I495 beltway in the area of ​​Bradley Boulevard for a vehicle fire.

First responders said the fire was extinguished.

More than a dozen powdered tungsten metals spilled onto the road.

MCFRS said the fire appears to be a result of a hit and run.

Crews were at the scene trying to remove the truck and debris.

As of 7:30 am, all lanes were closed.
