New York City’s traffic fatalities rose in 2021, new report finds

BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) – A single-vehicle crash in Blount County Saturday evening left an Oneonta man dead.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 67-year-old Gary Wilkerson was killed when he was struck by a Toyota Camry around 8:55 p.m. Wilkerson was driving a Harley-Davidson Road King when he collided with an animal in the roadway and was thrown from his motorcycle into oncoming traffic. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened on Blount County 12, about eight miles south of Oneonta. Nothing more is available as ALEA continues its investigation,
