Ray J The day after the 2024 BET Awards (July 1), he posted a disturbing message on his Instagram about having “suicidal thoughts.”

In a lengthy message, the serial entrepreneur revealed that he was at a “breaking point” and experiencing a “false” reality, alongside a post of himself dressed in white. The post came after he claimed he was unable to re-enter an awards ceremony and also got into an altercation with Zeus Network CEO Lemuel Plummer later that same night.

“I’m seriously at my breaking point! Providing for my family and wealth for generations to come was always the plan. But money is bad and people are bad and I can’t take it anymore,” he wrote. “These chain reactions come from being trapped in a false reality/disoriented by this whole life thing! The shit that happened to me tonight at the awards show was heartbreaking. I’m working backstage and then I go to take a break in the back and BET won’t let me in for some reason. I don’t know who they didn’t want me to see. It was weird.”

He continued to speak about his own perception of reality, claiming he was paid to “shut up” and take “dirty money.” He also shared that he felt “suicidal” and apologized to his sister, Brandy.

“I’m leaving the country. The shit that’s going on is mind-boggling. It’s making me suicidal and uncomfortable with my perception of reality,” he continued. “I’VE BEEN PAID TO SHUT UP AND SHUT UP! I FEEL BAD AND HATE MYSELF FOR IT! I DON’T WANT ANY MORE OF YOUR DIRTY MONEY! And B4! Or right after I die I promise to be free from all of this and the world can move forward with what’s real to me no matter what the consequences I have to face on the other side!! I’VE TRIED TO MAKE IT REAL FOR THE LAST TIME!”

“I’m sorry to myself and (my) sister I’m sorry (Brandy) I’ll fix this I won’t let them get away with it! I TOLD PEOPLE CLOSE TO ME I FEEL SOMETHING WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. FUCK I SAID IT,” he wrote.

According to footage posted online, Ray attended a BET Awards after-party hosted by GloRilla and got into some sort of altercation with Plummer.

The two producers could be seen shouting at each other as the crowd closed in on them. Before the “One Wish” singer could throw a punch, security stepped in to separate them.

The father of two reportedly eventually got into his car and drove away.

Last month Ray J appeared on Breakfast Clubwhere he accused Plummer of abusing and manipulating women into sleeping with him so they could appear on his popular streaming network. The 43-year-old also threatened to sue Plummer.

“I don’t like people hurting other people and forcing them to do shows for certain reasons that they shouldn’t be doing,” he told the host. “That would be rude, inhumane. These are facts. I have footage. I have a lot of things he did. Now it’s time to do what we’re doing now, which is to do what’s right by law.”
