One person was killed and three others were seriously injured when gangs went on a rampage in Ottery, Cape Town, shooting each other indiscriminately on Tuesday.

A video that was widely shared on social media after the attack showed bloodied victims lying in an open field as terrified residents gathered around them.

One of the victims can be seen lying on his stomach with his leg covered in blood, while another victim struggles to raise his head as locals urge him not to. Police arrived at the scene minutes after the attack.
